Fall planting is officially complete!  Several 1st grade students planted the inaugural seeds of the Reynolds Elementary Garden.  It was a nice morning for planting, the soil was damp from a good rain and the sun was shining, now we will watch and see where these seeds will take us!

Weekly photos of the garden will be posted to observe the progress of the plants, and hopefully in a couple of months we will have our first garden tasting!

Not afraid to get dirty!  1st graders planting peas and cauliflower.

We could have planted all day!

Reynolds Elementary Garden August 2013

Good day gardeners!

This marks the first entry for the Reynolds Elementary garden, and we are very excited to watch the garden and our blog grow!

It has been a busy summer of getting the garden built and ready for planting but we got it together and today is the first day of school.  We have 6 raised beds that are ready to be planted this coming Wednesday, we will be growing carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, chard, beans, beets, onions, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and more!  I have already planted these same varieties at my home garden so we will have a good idea what to expect at the school.

It is raining today so that will be a great way to prep our raised beds and have them nice and wet for planting.

Here are some pictures of what we have done so far.
